INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Learning and Growing Together
Pipestone’s 2025 Summer Internship Program is all
about discovering and creating future leaders in the
swine industry. The goal is for interns to learn and
grow with us, gaining professional experience in their
昀椀elds. We are excited to welcome fourteen interns to
the program, where they will be a part of the team and
contribute to our mission.
Hands-on Experiences
At Pipestone, interns get hands-on experience and
exposure to areas such as veterinary care, production
management, nutrition, research, accounting,
marketing, and IT services. These experiences help
interns develop a comprehensive understanding of
the swine industry by becoming part of the process.
Emma Zwart, a veterinary intern, touches on this idea,
saying, “This summer I am looking forward to gaining
more hands-on experience and a deeper understanding
of swine medicine through spending time with the
veterinarians, and doing a research project.” Focusing
on applying education to real-world scenarios, interns
like Claire Burns, an Accounting intern, are excited
to gain professional experience and practice in their
chosen 昀椀eld. Burns shares, “I am most looking forward
to diving deeper into the accounting process through
hands-on and real-world experiences.”
Industry Connections & Outreach
Through initiatives such as research, professional
development, learning, and leadership, our interns
strive to make an impact on the swine industry. Abigail
Morse, our research intern, shares her excitement to
learn, saying, “I am most looking forward to learning
how to conduct applied research in an industry setting.”
Interns also have opportunities to work with and
educate the public about the industry. Zoe Ruschmeier,
the marketing and public relations intern, shared, “I
am most looking forward to helping with outreach and
education of agriculture and the swine industry, such as
the Discovery Barn.”
Program Highlights
Our internship program provides interns with
experience in all levels of swine production. Working
closely with industry professionals, interns make
connections and grow as leaders. Opportunities such as
the Pipestone Discovery Barn allow interns to connect
with consumers and promote agriculture. Immersed in
our professional environment, interns are guided by our
core values: Integrity, Caring, Commitment, Growth,
and Teamwork. With exposure to different roles and
facilities, interns are prepared for careers in the industry.
