Hannah Walkes hails from a traditional crop and livestock farm in
southwest Minnesota. A graduate of South Dakota State University,
she began her career with PIPESTONE in 2007 and today, serves as
President of Pipestone Services.
Setting the Standard for the Next Generation of Pig Production
Pig farming is a generational game. It’s a daily balance to not just manage today’s farm,
but actively shape its future. Part of shaping and preparing for tomorrow is to elevate
expectations and set a new standard for excellence today.
This issue of the Journal is about raising the bar. It’s committing to higher standards in pig
health, biosecurity, vendor selection, and emphasizing the power of clear 昀椀nancial and
performance data to create a pig farming business the next generation would be proud to
inherit. If we want to build a future-ready farm, we need to expect more—from our people,
our partners, and our performance.
Let’s rede昀椀ne what good looks like. Let’s set the standard. Let’s create the farm of tomorrow
together.
