Foreign Animal Disease Preparedness
Foreign Animal Diseases (FADs), such as African Swine Fever (ASF), pose a signi昀椀cant threat to pork production
and the resilience of the U.S. swine industry. Taking proactive steps is essential to protect individual farms and
support the broader pork supply chain.
Certi昀椀ed Swine Sample Collector (CSSC) Program
The Certi昀椀ed Swine Sample Collector (CSSC) program, a USDA-approved training initiative, supports these
efforts by equipping individuals to collect diagnostic samples safely and effectively. 102 of our team members
are CSSCs, contributing to disease preparedness.
