Future Proof Farming: Building a Legacy That Lasts
In agriculture, standing still is not an option. The future belongs to those who adapt and plan with
purpose.
This edition offers insights to safeguard both animal and long-term facility investments,
diversi昀椀cation strategies, as well as addressing more current 昀椀nancial decisions in current feed cost
environment.
At the heart of this issue is the Hansen family, whose 40-year journey in pig farming exempli昀椀es
what “future proof” means through hard work, family, and a whole-lot-of trust in the good Lord
above. Their story reminds us that successful farms are built not just for today’s challenges, but for
tomorrow’s possibilities.
At Pipestone, our mission is to help farmers today build the farms of tomorrow—operations that
are healthier, more ef昀椀cient, and ready for the future. As you read, consider what steps you can
take to strengthen your farm’s foundation for the years ahead. The future isn’t something that
happens to us; it’s something we build—together.
